Question of the week:
The Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre is hosting four third-year Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) medical students.
The NOSM students were asked what they are looking forward to during their time in Sioux Lookout.

I am VERY EXCITED to be in Sioux Lookout for the next 8 months for a number of different reasons. I am looking forward to getting to know this community. I am also looking forward to learning and working alongside physicians and other health care professionals to provide care and supports to patients and their families.

I am an outdoor enthusiast so I’m thrilled to experience the beauty that Sioux Lookout has to offer. I am also looking forward to becoming involved in the cross-country skiing community this winter. With regards to medicine, I’m excited to learn in a rural setting from the incredible group of health care professionals that service Sioux Lookout and the north. Thanks for welcoming us into your beautiful community!

I am looking forward to getting to know the community of Sioux Lookout, both inside and outside of our clinical learning environments. I am really excited to learn from an incredible group of healthcare providers, and I feel particularly privileged to have the opportunity to witness and practice remote medicine in the Northern communities. I also can’t wait to start exploring the beautiful great outdoors that the area has to offer!
