Registration for Science North Summer Science Camps is now open in Sioux Lookout and surrounding areas including Kenora, Red Lake, and Dryden, as well as more than 30 additional communities across Northern Ontario.
Science North explained in a March 1 media release, that its Summer Science Camps, “Introduce children to the worlds of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) year after year. This year is no different as we embark into a new season. Science North’s highly trained staff have all of the tools to inspire the future scientist in your home. Fostering imagination and life-long skills with a unique blend of hands-on science, mind-blowing demonstrations, and energetic games and activities, science camp will spark natural curiosity while encouraging a love for science.”
Science North’s Summer Science Camps in Sioux Lookout will run July 11-15 and August 2-5.
Science North has set COVID-19 protocols (https://www.sciencenorth.ca/summer-camps#covid) for in-person camps and is continuing to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation as it evolves, with updated information to be shared through email, social media and at sciencenorth.ca/camps if required.
Registration for the camps is available online 24 hours a day at https://www.sciencenorth.ca/summer-camps or by calling 1-800-461-4898 ext. 222 from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. The Municipality of Sioux Lookout shared in a March 3 media release that it is implementing a new tracking system for pets to help reunite missing or found animals with their owners faster.
