The Edwin Switzer Memorial, Sioux Lookout Legion, Branch #78 and Candlish Memorial, Branch #139, Royal Canadian Legion in Hudson will honour Canada’s veterans on Remembrance Day, Nov. 11.
Candlish Memorial President Bob Starratt advised that there will be no march to the cenotaph this year and said a smaller number of wreathes will be laid at the outdoor cenotaph, where this year’s Remembrance Day service will take place on Nov. 11 in Hudson at 11 a.m. There will be no luncheon following the service, he said. Starratt added that masks will be required if you are not in your household group and not social distancing, even if fully vaccinated.
Edwin Switzer Memorial President Kirk Drew said there will also be no march in Sioux Lookout.
This year’s Remembrance Day service in Sioux Lookout will take place in the upper Legion hall on Nov. 11, with doors opening at 10:20 a.m. Everyone attending is asked to be seated by 10:50 a.m.
“It will be the same thing as we’ve done in the past upstairs. There will be beef on a bun for those that are still around downstairs (following the service)”, Drew said.
People must be fully vaccinated to attend the ceremony. Masks will be required.
