Remembrance Day Tea
A steady stream of visitors attended the Edwin Switzer Memorial, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #78 last Saturday for a Remembrance Day Tea.
Organized by the Legion Ladies Auxiliary (third photo - with Legion First Vice-President John Cole), the afternoon tea was a fundraiser for the Legion.
Members of 270 Otter Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron (second photo - with Legion and Legion Ladies Auxiliary members) assisted in serving tea, coffee, sandwiches and dainties during the event.
Legion Ladies Auxiliary President Charron said she was very happy with this year’s tea, “The hall was full, and we got great food, and we had great help. I love when the Cadets come. They’ve been a great help.”
Major Ted Mitchell, Commanding Officer of the air cadet squadron shared, “It’s always great to come out and help the Legion and the Ladies Auxiliary. This is such a great community event. It’s nice to see people come out and support the Legion Ladies Auxiliary and take time this time of year to reflect on what Remembrance Day is and what it means. It’s a good opportunity for the Cadets to come and be part of that and also start to learn what that’s all about.”
