Report From Parliament Hill
Eric Melillo, MP, Kenora Riding
Dear Constituents
I went on a tour of the Northwestern Ontario Métis Child & Family Services location in Kenora. Afterwards, I joined their Fall Feast organized in partnership with the Ontario Native Women’s Association and Kenora Sexual Assault Centre.
I later went to Valleyview Public School to congratulate Kate Mays on receiving the 2023 Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence. Congratulations Kate on this outstanding accomplishment and thank you for your commitment to students in northwestern Ontario. I also visited with students at Beaver Brae Secondary School to talk about my role as a Member of Parliament and the importance of the democratic process.
I ended the week meeting with Grand Chief Alvin Fiddler to discuss how the federal government can support First Nations in Nishnawbe Aski Nation. I also spoke at the NAN Northern Roads Summit to reaffirm my commitment to advancing true and meaningful reconciliation.
