Report From Parliament Hill
Eric Melillo, MP, Kenora Riding
Dear Constituents
After nine years of this NDP-Liberal government, life has never been so expensive. They have doubled housing costs, doubled the debt, and doubled food bank use. They have also doubled gun crime. With Jagmeet and Justin, it is double trouble.
Food prices have risen 36 percent faster in Canada than it has in the United States – a gap that opened up after the NDP-Liberal government put a carbon tax on the farmers and truckers who bring us our food. Now there are two million people lined up at food banks.
Canada’s economy is cratering but the worst is yet to come. The NDP-Liberal government has voted for and legislated the quadrupling of the carbon tax to 61 cents a litre.
Jagmeet Singh said that he would not support Justin Trudeau anymore, and now he’s doing just that. What we have is a two-month temporary tax trick, removing the GST on certain goods. But this will not come close to making up for the permanent quadrupling of the carbon tax on heat, housing, food and fuel.
In just a few months, the NDP-Liberal plan is to raise taxes on all the same items they claim they’re giving you a break on.
Instead of this temporary two-month tax trick, Pierre Poilievre is offering another solution.
Common Sense Conservatives will axe the carbon tax permanently and take the GST off new homes to save people up to $50,000 on a new home purchase and stimulate 30,000 extra home builds every single year.
Only Conservatives will bring home powerful paycheques and lower prices.
