Second degree murder charge laid following serious assault and robbery incident

A second degree murder charge has been laid after the victim of a serious assault and robbery in Sioux Lookout died as a result of their injuries.
The victim has been identified as Robyn Kakepetum, 37, of Sioux Lookout.
Police shared that on March 18 at 11:40 p.m., Sioux Lookout OPP were dispatched to a disturbance at a Seventh Avenue residence, where it was reported that two people were fighting outside. Officers located a victim who was transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Center with life threatening injuries.
Tyler Collee, 26, of Winnipeg, Manitoba was charged with the following offences:
Robbery contrary to section 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
Aggravated Assault contrary to section 268 of the Criminal Code.
Collee was re-arrested and charged with the additional offence of:
Second degree murder contrary to section 235(1) of the Criminal Code
None of the charges have been tested in court.
The Sioux Lookout Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the OPP North West Region Crime Unit, under the direction of the Criminal Investigation Branch, continue to investigate the incident.
