Students in Tallie MacDonald’s Grade 12 class from Sacred Heart School visited the pound in Sioux Lookout last week to present Sioux Looks Out for Paws animal rescue with a special cheque.
Students baked 834 orange and blue dog bone shaped sugar cookies, which they sold to their fellow students on March 1, raising $737.
“We wanted to give back to our community and show our love for animals,” MacDonald stated on March 1.
She added students wanted to exemplify the school’s virtue of the month for March, love.
Sioux Looks Out for Paws representative Lynda Ducharme accepted the cheque from students stating, “I want to say thank you so much for what you did. That was amazing! Your money will help a lot of animals either with getting vet care, or for food, or the cost of supplies for them. It is very much appreciated and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
