Shuniah resident winner of recent SLMHC Foundation 50/50 draw

A lucky Shuniah resident is enjoying her winnings after her numbers were picked in the Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre (SLMHC) Foundation’s 50/50 Draw. The winning number was drawn during the SLMHC Foundation’s September 10th draw. 

Renata Bruce, of Shuniah, is a regular supporter of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation’s 50/50 draw.  Bruce stated, “I have supported our local Thunder Bay hospital with their 50/50, but then on Facebook other hospitals posted their 50/50, and I thought why not support other communities!” She added, in a written statement, “When Rita (Demetzer, SLMHC Foundation Treasurer) called and said I had won the SLMHC 50/50, I was flabbergasted and just so overcomes with happiness. Our oldest daughter is getting married next August, and this will surely help to make it even more of a special day.”

The September draw had a prize of just under $9,500. 

Bruce added “I have never been to Sioux Lookout, but I’ve heard it’s a lovely community with all of the same natural beauty and great outdoor activities that we also have here in Thunder Bay. Someday I will visit Sioux Lookout, to relax and enjoy what it has to offer.”
