Sioux Lookout HOG Chapter hosts Annual Spawning Run

The Sioux Lookout Harley Owners Group (HOG) have officially hit the road for another season of motorcycling. The Hog Chapter hosted their 15th Annual Spawning Run on May 11. Approximately 20 area motorcyclists came out for the ride up Highway 516 to Mill’s Creek, and enjoyed a barbecue sponsored by Fresh Market Foods.
The month of May is also Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month in Canada, and HOG chapter director Rick Jaworski is reminding area drivers to be aware of motorcyclists.
“Our catch phrase is, ‘Take a sec, and double check,’ because your brain is not really looking for motorcycles at this time of year, so it takes a little bit of training. You have to retrain your brain every year just to start looking out for motorcycles because it’s pretty easy to overlook that single headlight,” he shared.
“We just try telling people to take a second or two at the stop signs and just make sure there’s nobody coming because it’s pretty easy to overlook motorcycles,” he added.
