Luck was with Dean Larose of Sioux Lookout when he matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the May 14, 2022 LOTTARIO draw to win $100,000.
Dean, a retiree, told OLG he has been a regular lottery player since 1975. “I’ve been playing my own numbers, and this is my first big win,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I always say yes to ENCORE!”
In a June 23 media release from OLG, Larose, a 60-year-old father, said he was checking his tickets on a Sunday morning while enjoying his coffee when he got to his last ticket and thought he won $100. “I was pleasantly surprised when I checked the ticket again and noticed it was actually $100,000,” he said. “I started screaming for my wife and we celebrated with a special breakfast – bacon, eggs and mimosas!”
Larose told OLG he plans to pay off some bills and set the rest aside. “I may treat myself to a snowmachine and consider going on a cruise with my wife,” he concluded.
The winning ticket was purchased at Sioux Lottery Centre on Front Street in Sioux Lookout.
Organized by husband-and-wife Victor and Romaine Lyon, July 1st was a Day of Healing in Sioux Lookout.
