Sioux Lookout resident celebrates gathering of five generations

Sioux Lookout resident Christina Davis recently celebrated five generations of her family gathering together in Sioux Lookout.
“My mom and my grandmother came down for the July long-weekend… The last time we had five generations together was in 1995 when my daughter was born, and we had my great-grandmother, my grandma, my mom, myself, and my daughter. We now have another five generations,” said Davis.
Davis grew up in Nakina, Ontario, approximately 64 kilometres north of Geraldton. She moved to Sioux Lookout ten years ago, and she’s made the town her home. Her daughter, Heather Wobbe, and her grandson, Cody Cummine, also call Sioux Lookout their home.
“My mom and grandma live in Barrie, and they just came down to visit for the weekend… We’re hoping they get to come back up next summer,” said Davis.
When asked about the opportunity to gather together as five generations, Davis shared that it was an amazing feeling.
“It felt really great. It feels amazing that you can share that generational thing with your kids, parents, and grandparents. It’s a one-of-a-kind thing, so it’s pretty exciting,” she said.
