Sioux Lookout GM invited community members to visit the dealership on Sept. 14 and Drive For A Cause.
Twenty-seven people took vehicles for a test drive that day, raising $1350 in support of the Friends of Cedar Bay.
A Free BBQ lunch was also part of the event.
Sioux Lookout GM Sales Manager Emmanuel Ronstadt said the event was very successful, “It was nice for our employees who are new to Sioux Lookout to meet new people within the community, and wonderful to see our amazing customers come out to support a great cause.”
He said of choosing Friends of Cedar Bay as the recipient for the Drive For A Cause event, “For many of us, our children are our lives and what Friends of Cedar Bay help to provide for our children is just amazing. Every community starts with the children and if we can look after them, the community will continue to flourish.”
He added, “I would like to take this opportunity to firstly thank everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to take a test drive. Secondly, I want to thank the volunteers from Friends of Cedar Bay for all the help they provided. BBQing for hours, especially in rainy weather, is not always easy. We are very grateful to be able to give back to our community and look forward to doing more in the future.”
Friends of Cedar Bay Board of Directors Chair Bobbi Roberts commented following the event, “Friends of Cedar Bay is built on everyday meaningful contributions made by many. The goal is making nature accessible and enjoyable to all as well as to bring people together through community events. It is said that our health and happiness are inextricably linked to our connection to the land and to community, so it was fantastic to have GM reach out with huge support as they settle in. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported the event with a test drive. We’ll put the donation straight to work October 21st - hope to see you at Boo at the Bay!”
