The Sioux Lookout Shrine Club (a member club of Khartum Shrine) recently honoured the contributions of club and community members who helped make the club’s charitable fundraising efforts (multiple BBQ’s and a virtual golf tournament) this past year a success.
At the Masonic Lodge on August 20, , Khartum Shriners (Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario) CEO and Potentate Denis Lorteau presented certificates of appreciation to Fresh Market Foods (accepted by co-owner Tracey Bullock), C.U.P.E. Local 2141 Municipal Workers of Sioux Lookout (accepted by Jeremy Funk), Bryan Neufeld/Remedy’s Rx (accepted by Remedy’s Rx employee Shannon Brody), Bumper to Bumper Sioux-Per Auto Parts (accepted by Kelli George-Egerter) and Tara Drew of Drew Osteopathy, who was joined by members of the Sioux Lookout Shrine Ladies Golf Tournament committee (Drew is co-chair of the committee and was joined by Liz Ward and Kelli George-Egerter).

Through the support of the community, the Sioux Lookout Shrine Club was able to provide financial support to Shriners Hospitals for Children Canada, the Khartum Shrine Patient Transportation Fund, and to Shrine patients and families, including patients living in Sioux Lookout.
BJ Egerter, President of Sioux Lookout Shrine Club, said, “This evening is a thank you to all of our sponsors and to give them a bit of appreciation, a good meal, lots of camaraderie and to have our fellow Nobles here from Winnipeg was extra special in these COVID times.”
Egerter said the club has been well supported by the community, “Sioux Lookout is behind us 100 per cent. Any event that we run, BBQ’s, car washes, you name it, the town is behind us 100 per cent and we appreciate that very much.”
