Thunder Bay resident Ashley Magiskan took home the Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre (SLMHC) Foundation’s August 11 jackpot of over $13,000.
Following the cancellation of two major SLMHC fundraisers last year, the foundation introduced the 50/50 Charity Draws last November to help raise funds to support the hospital.
SLMHC Foundation Treasurer Rita Demetzer shared, “These draws have been a needed boon for the Foundation and we appreciate the dedication of our patrons to providing funds for the health care needs of our region. We certainly hope everyone continues to support the Foundation and health care in Sioux Lookout and our catchment area.”
“To date, we have given out over $270,000 in prize money. So far, all to people in Northwestern Ontario. The Foundation has received the same amount of funds, minus expenses. We have already earmarked approximately $200,000 in much needed equipment,” Demetzer shared.
