SNHS celebrates Honour Roll students

Sioux North High School (SNHS) celebrated their Honour Roll students with a special breakfast on March 23 in the school’s cafetorium.
Parents/guardians were invited to the breakfast with their children.
“We are excited to see so many students and parents/guardians and community members joining us today for our honour roll breakfast,” shared SNHS Principal Darryl Tinney. “Today’s breakfast is in honour of students who attained honour roll during the 2021-2022 school year. What makes today’s celebration even more impressive is that the students attained the honour roll during Covid, and while the school was in quadmesters. It is a testament to the student’s studies and hard work and we wish them continued academic success, both this year and in future years at SNHS,” Tinny shared. He continued, “We want to acknowledge the parent/guardian support that is crucial to student success and acknowledge the work of the teachers and staff to help the students reach their full potential. I also want to thank and acknowledge the staff for setting up the event this morning and for the preparation of the food.”
Tinney estimated that between 130-150 students and parents/guardians attended the celebratory breakfast. “This is what it’s all about, bringing people together, creating a sense of community and celebrating student success!”
The school shared that the calculation of Honour Roll is as follows:
Grade 9, average of top 8 classes during the school year.
Grade 10, average of top 8 classes during the school year.
Grade 11, average of the top 7 classes during the school year.
Grade 12, average of the top 6 classes during the school year.
