Speed Knitting/Crochet Contest

Seven participants visited Drayton Cash and Carry on August 3 to take part in a Speed Knitting/Crochet Contest sponsored by the store.
After 45 minutes Christa Schultz (foreground, left) - knitting with 89 rows over 20 stitches and Kirsten Barrett (foreground, right) – crocheting with 45 rows over 20 stitches, were declared the event’s winners, each winner received their choice of a 5mm crochet hook or a set of 5mm knitting needles along with a $10.00 gift card and an ice cream coupon. All participants received an ice cream coupon.
Final results were: Crochet: Kirsten Barrett - 49 rows, Kelli Egerter - 34 rows, Aileen Urquhart - 26 rows, Adelaide Meekis - 19 rows.
Knitting: Christa Schulz - 89 rows, Barbara Roche - 40 rows, Anna Walton/Alice Gwyn - 19 rows.
