Three charged following drug bust in Sioux Lookout

Three Sioux Lookout residents have been charged following a drug bust in the community.
Sioux Lookout OPP shared that on July 15, “officers from the Sioux Lookout Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) and the Regional Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) executed a Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA) warrant at a residence on the west end of Queen Street, in Sioux Lookout.
“As a result of this investigation, police located and seized suspected illicit substances including fentanyl, cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, and suboxone with an estimated street value of approximately $12,000, as well as approximately $1,200 in Canadian currency.”
As a result of the investigation two Sioux Lookout residents, 41 and 22 respectively, were arrested and charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to the CDSA, Section 5(2) - six counts,
Possession of a Schedule I Substance, Contrary to the CDSA Section 4(1) - one count,
Possession of Proceeds of Property obtained by Crime Under $5,000, Contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada, Section 354(1)(a) - two counts.
Also as a result of this investigation, a third Sioux Lookout resident, 49, was arrested and charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance, contrary to the CDSA, Section 4(1) - four counts.
All three were released on undertakings and will appear in the Sioux Lookout Ontario Court of Justice on August 25, 2020, to answer the charges.
