The Kids Kaleidoscope Entertainment Series held their 2023-2024 season finale on May 9 at Sioux North High School, presenting Stunt Ventriloquist Tim Holland.
Holland wowed the audience with magic tricks and juggling and had them in stiches with his ventriloquism and puppetry, drawing laughter from young and young at heart.
“It was wonderful. People were very engaged. It was a very fun crowd,” the veteran performer of 20 years shared after the show.
Kids Kaleidoscope Entertainment Series committee member Nancy McCord commented, “We had approximately 100 people in attendance on Thursday for our season finale. This was, I believe, our best attendance of the season. I thought the performance was great. I caught myself laughing out loud on many occasions throughout the evening. Tim found a way to capture the audience and keep them enthralled throughout the entire performance. I loved how he included volunteers from the audience to help with his performance. I have had a lot of great feedback from those in attendance.”
Commenting on his unique mix of talents, Holland shared, “I started as a street performer and for those festivals they’re always looking for unique things. I started as a unicycle juggler and at the time there were quite a few so to differentiate myself I initially got out different things to juggle. I had a pogo stick at one time, but then the puppetry was something - there’s no other ventriloquist out there doing this kind of thing.”
Kids Kaleidoscope Entertainment Series President and Programmer Dorothy Broderick shared, “We don’t have plans for the 2024-2025 season as yet. We are working behind the scenes to restructure the committee and work on having a great 2025-2026 season. Anyone wishing to step in and take on roles within the committee is welcome to attend our upcoming AGM to discuss how you can help bring so much fun and enjoyment to Sioux Lookout! Keep an eye on our Facebook page for the date and location of our AGM.”
