Charges laid after threats made towards Sioux Lookout business

Charges have been laid after Sioux lookout OPP responded to a report of threats being made towards a local business.
Police responded to the report on Jan. 9 at 2:40 p.m. Police say their investigation revealed threatening messages were sent, which resulted in a temporary lockdown of the Sioux Lookout business.
As a result, a 33-year-old from Sioux Lookout, was arrested and charged with:
- Uttering Threats - Cause Death or Bodily Harm
Police say there is currently no threat to public safety.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Provincial Court on February 27 to answer the charge.
Sioux Lookout OPP shared, “Members of the public are encouraged to be aware of their surroundings and report suspicious non-emergency activity to police by calling 1-888-310-1122 or calling 911 in the case of an emergency.
