In the spirit of the season, a local business, Charli’s Diner, will be offering a free Christmas dinner on Monday, Dec. 23 at 5 p.m.
Business owner Tim Yewchyn said everyone is welcome to attend.
“It just seems like the right thing to do,” Yewchyn said of offering the feast.
“There’s going to be turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, cranberries, all the Christmas things,” he said.
Donations will be welcomed, with all proceeds going to support the Legion’s roof project.
Kirk Drew, President of the Edwin Switzer Memorial Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 78, explained, “The building is old, so we have a number of things that have to be repaired, the roof being one of them.”
Drew said of Yewchyn’s generosity, “I think it’s great. It shows community support.”
