SLMHC celebrates staff’s service
Patient centered, service oriented, performance focused. The Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre’s (SLMHC) Celebration of People Event 2010 honoured and recognized many staff who have upheld those goals. At the event February 2 numerous staff were acknowledged for long term service, retirement, and other special recognition.

Out of the Cold continues shelter services
“Is it perfect? No, but if you’re dealing with humans nothing is perfect. You do the best you can,” said Susan Barclay, Executive Director of the Out of the Cold Shelter. “We have any number of people that I see on a regular basis who are no longer crawling in here at night.” A partnership with community counselling has allowed for an upswing in shelter clients getting treatment and getting off the streets.

I would like to start off by saying that I hope I have been a courteous and considerate driver for many years. I also spend a lot of my time walking and I would like to think I am a courteous walker as well...
