Busy year for Sioux Lookout MAT Committee

The Sioux Lookout MAT Committee has been busy this past year. We have provided over $480,000 in funding for many community projects to promote tourism and/or community beautification.
Some of the project examples are:

• the Sioux Lookout Figure Skating, we helped to support their fall event and enhancements
  
• the Sioux Lookout Bombers Junior A Hockey, we partnered with the Municipality and several local businesses for The Memorial Arena improvements
  
• the Sioux Lookout Lions Club - for enhancements to their celebrations
  
• the Sioux Lookout Angler and Hunters with their lake marker water safety project
  
• the Nordic Nomads with their winter activities enhancements, new storage facility
  
• Sioux Lookout Chamber of Commerce and Municipality of Sioux Lookout with their branding and promotion project
  
• Sioux Lookout Master Angler Program with their marketing and promotion project
  in partnership with KDSB, SLFNHA, the Sioux Lookout Chamber and the Municipality of Sioux Lookout, for the new public washroom facility.
  

Successful applicant projects for 2024 funding are currently under way.
If your community group has an idea for a project that would fit under community beautification or the promotion of tourism, applicants are able to receive up to 90% of eligible and supported costs for grants under $10,000 and 75% of eligible and supported costs for grants over $10,000. Costs related to HST, staff salaries, budget deficits, government services, professional and consultant fees are not eligible.
