Refugee sponsorship
The Galatians 6:10 Refugee Sponsorship Group is pleased to be able to begin a sponsorship for an Iranian refugee family. The lives of this family were threatened in Iran, and they fled to Turkey. Fortunately, they are in a location in Turkey that was not impacted by the recent earthquake.
We are hoping to submit their application in the next month or two. We need to raise the funds to cover the cost of the sponsorship before we submit the application. The total cost of this sponsorship is estimated to be $55,000.
The Sioux Lookout community has been very generous, and we are very close to having the funds we need. In order to get the balance of what is needed, we are holding a spaghetti dinner and benefit auction at the Sioux Mountain School on Saturday, March 4.
The spaghetti dinner will be served from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The benefit auction will begin at 6:00 PM. We have some really great items that will be sold at the benefit auction.
Tickets for the event can be purchased at the Hub when you go for your next coffee or from one of the organizers. Contact Merle Burkholder 737-9215 or Frank Head 737-2622. Tickets will also be available at the door.
We hope to see you at this event and appreciate your support in getting this refugee sponsorship fully funded.
