New Manager of Recreation and Culture hired

The Municipality of Sioux Lookout has hired a new Manager of Recreation and Culture.
In a Jan. 18 media release, the Municipality announced the hiring of Meredith Culham for the position.
Culham has been part of the community since 2009, “She began her journey with the Municipality of Sioux Lookout in 2010 as a casual employee at the Recreation Centre’s front desk, transitioning to a full-time role in 2013. In 2015, Culham was promoted to Museum and Culture Supervisor, showcasing her ability to contribute to the department.
“In 2017, she took on the role of acting Assistant Manager, solidifying her place as a key member of the management team. Culham embarked on a new challenge in 2019, joining the management team at Anderson’s Lodge, where she continued to build on her skills and experience,” the Municipality shared.
The Municipality stated it is, “Excited to welcome a familiar face back to the Recreation Centre and is confident that Culham will bring a wealth of knowledge and a fresh perspective to their role as Manager of Recreation and Culture. She expresses a commitment to community engagement and the importance of promoting recreational and cultural initiatives.”
CAO/Municipal Clerk, Brian P. MacKinnon shared, “Her experience and understanding of both the community and the role our Recreation and Culture department plays in the tourist sector make her an excellent fit for this position. We are very happy to have her returning to the team.”
Culham will start her new role as Manager of Recreation and Culture, effective Tuesday, February 20.
